Life of Riley is a contemporary women’s fiction novel set on a Cumbrian island where Riley, now 48, grew up as an angry foster child. Riley returns to look after her ageing foster mother, Fran, who does not want to be moved into a care home.  But Riley has always been a nomadic outsider – can she feel at home in a small, fractured community with a very long memory? Her developing friendship with Anya, the nature warden, is put to the test when she helps Sharon, the island landlady, attract more people to the small island, despite Anya's concerns about the impact this will have on the island's wildlife and environment.
